ELITE Inside blowout preventer (IBOP)
IBOP for top drive can be dividing into Upper IBOP and Lower IBOP. They are control valves which are using with the top drive system. Usually the two valves connected to the top drive drilling device. The IBOP adopts high reliable metal seal.
So it can bear high pressure upward and downward. The working pressure can be achieving 10000 psi or 15000 psi. When well kick occurring, The upper IBOP can be closing by remote controlling, but the lower IBOP will be closing manually.
Actuator for top drive is a subsidiary body which controls open and close of Upper Inside blowout preventer. It works with other accessories of the rig. So that control opening and closing of Upper BOP on any height of derrick driller console. Both the valve body cavity and accessories have special Anti-corrosive processing, so that prolong the working life.
Model NFQ inner blowout preventer (Grey Valve) is a necessary blowout preventing device during drilling process specified by IADC (International Association of Drilling Contractors).
If any well kick or overflow occurs, the inner blowout preventer shall be using. Because the important thing at this moment is to land the drilling rods into the well as many as possible. And this can be done only by installing a pressure- returning device in the drill string.
Used by: land rigs and offshore jack-up rigs in the Middle East and South America.
ELITE IBOP Product description
Upper and lower IBOP for top drives
IBOP for top drive can be divided into upper IBOP and lower IBOP. Both are control valves used with the top drive drilling system and connected to the top drive assembly. The Inside blowout preventer uses a highly reliable metal-to-metal seal so it can withstand high pressure from both directions. Working pressure options: 10,000 psi and 15,000 psi.
– Upper Inside blowout preventer: remotely operated from the driller’s console when a well kick occurs.
– Lower Inside blowout preventer: manually operated as a backup valve in the drill string.
Actuator for upper IBOP
The top drive actuator is a control unit that opens and closes the upper IBOP.
It works with rig accessories so that the driller can operate the upper IBOP at any height of the derrick from the console. The valve body and key components have special anti-corrosion treatment to prolong service life.
NFQ inner blowout preventer
Model NFQ inner blowout preventer is a necessary safety device specified by IADC. When a well kick or overflow occurs and it is critical to run drill pipe into the well as quickly as possible. The NFQ inner BOP can be installing in the drill string to provide a pressure-returning barrier.

Quick FAQ about inside BOP
1.What is an inside blowout preventer?
An inside blowout preventer is a high-pressure check valve installing in the drill string to prevent backflow of well fluids if a kick or overflow occurs.
It allows fluid to be pumpinged down but blocks upward flow to protect the rig floor and equipment.
2.What is the difference between upper IBOP and lower IBOP?
The upper IBOP is installed close to the top drive and can be opened and closing remotely from the driller’s console. The lower IBOP is installing further down in the drill string and is closing manually as a backup safety valve.
3.What working pressures are available for your IBOPs?
Standard working pressures are 10,000 psi and 15,000 psi. Customized pressure ratings can be suppliing on request.
4.Can your IBOP be using in H₂S service?
Yes. IBOPs can be suppliing with H₂S-resistant materials. And sealing parts according to NACE MR0175 for sour service applications.
5.Main functions of a top drive Inside blowout preventer
Prevent upward flow of oil, gas and drilling mud through the drill string
Provide a quick shut-off point near the top drive
Work together with BOP stacks and other well control equipment
