Description
What Is Vacuum Insulated Tubing (VIT)?
Vacuum Insulated Tubing (VIT) consists of two concentric tubes—an inner flow pipe and an outer protective pipe—with a vacuum layer between them. This vacuum acts as an insulator, drastically reducing thermal conductivity between the inner and outer walls.
In some designs, the vacuum annulus is also filling with reflective layers, multi-layer insulation (MLI), or getter materials to further suppress convection and radiation heat transfer.
The principle of Vacuum In sulated Tubing design is to minimize heat transfer through three fundamental mechanisms: Conduction,Convection and Radiation.
ELITE Vacuum Insulated Tubing Structure suppliers Overview:
Inner Tube: Carries the production or injection fluid (steam, oil, or water).
Outer Tube: Protects the inner tube and maintains vacuum integrity.
Vacuum Annulus: The evacuated space providing superior insulation.
End Seals / Joints: Specially welded or brazed ends ensure long-term vacuum retention.
Key Process for insulated space:
1.Aluminium foil effectively preventing heat radiation.
2.Heat insulation material effectively reducing heat conduction.
3.Vacuuming and adding getter reducing heat convection.
4.For actual working condition, pre-stress processing of inner pipe is offset by the heat rise to ensure the strength of the product.
VIT vacuum insulated tubing Application:
1.Injection of 350℃ high-temperature steam into the reservoir to heathigh-viscosity oil.
2.Also usually used to prevent wax deposit in well channel in offshore well as well as onshore.
3.For oil and gas extraction in extremely cold areas, VIT can be using to prevent the underground heat brought out by oil and gas wells from damaging the permanent earth.
4.For clean geothermal energy developnent, It greatly reduce heatloss during heat transfering in downhole.
